"Mommy and Me": Who wants to Hula?

Aloha Cutie Patootie Followers:

It is 12:26 a.m. and Marisol and I are sitting in the dark listening to the humming of her generator in the background.  The snow unfortunately canceled our last Mommy and Me activity so we decided to bring some sunshine to the DC metropolitan area - Hula Dancing for EVERYONE!

On February 2, 2011 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Kinikia, dressed in a traditional ti leaf skirt "Lilo & Stitch" style, will visit our little cottage in Olney to perform the "Aloha", a Hawaiiana Luau show for children. The show will include a Polynesian Luau-demonstration of Hawaiian Hula dances involving storytelling with hands -  a'auna style, dance and instruments.

Kinikia will also demonstrate a Maori poi dance from New Zealand and an Aparima - a storytelling lyrical dance from Tahiti where the hips match the beat of the drums. Please note that audience participation will be encouraged so get ready to shake those hips moms ;o).

As always, our Mommy Cafe and snacks for your little ones will be available.  Please reserve your space by calling 301 674-2643 or 301 440-0597 as space is limited. The $20 price will cover (adult/child), entertainment and refreshments. Additional adult is $10 and additional child $8.

We hope to see you there!

Aloha until we post again,
Karen and Marisol
