Consciously Paying it Forward

Hello Cutie Patootie Followers:

Today is February 26, 2013 and as we sit and plan the remainder of the year for our Cutie Patooties, we reminisce on the hundreds of moms we met on our journey to this point.  Like us, we've met moms struggling with the day to day, trying to keep their family lives as normal as possible.  We've met talented, smart, vivacious, funny moms with stories quite similar to ours.  We sat for hours sharing stories, swapping resources, giving advice and encouragement.  We realized that although we are not little girls, as moms, we still do not have all the answers to all the questions - and it's o.k.  As a result of these impromptu meetings, we have been blessed to partner with several moms willing to come in during our clubhouse hours to offer classes to our girls.  These workshops have been beneficial to our girls and our moms in soo many ways.

Our Patootie Club House offers workshops centered around four themes we believe are essential in the lives of girls today: Education, Entrepreneurship, Health and Positive Self-image.  Our mission is to provide girls ages 5 - 16 yrs. with an opportunity to empower themselves to become great leaders.  We challenge them to think on their own by creating consequence based and decision-making opportunities that build self-esteem, self-confidence and self-expression.  A few of our MOST popular workshops have been:

Education:
Book Club 101: Introduction to chapter books
Attacking the College Essay Before it Attacks You: How one should prepare themselves to become more marketable while in H.S.? When should one begin to write their college essay? What should be included and what should be removed?

Entrepreneurship:
Your Junk, Someone’s Treasure – How to de-clutter to conduct a yard sale
For our mini hoarders and clutter bugs, teaching girls how to de-clutter their closets and organize dresser drawers’ thereby removing items no longer in use.  Girls bring these items to the cottage to sell (parental permission required) during our yard sale.  Girls learn how to research and price all items for sale (cost analysis and depreciation) and conduct their own yard sale with supervision.

Health:
Storybook Yoga:
Using the creative minds of our girls, we create a story incorporating the use of yoga poses, meditation and creative movement.

Positive Self Image
Bullying is for Bulls: Bringing out the positive aspects of each girl, recognizing that we are all different and special in our own skin.

If you are willing to spend a few hours a week awakening the minds of girls, give us a call; we’d love to hear from you!

We have created a group - Patootie Lynx (Links), for those who wish to come in, relax and network.  Our first quarterly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26th at 7 p.m.  This will be a FREE meet and greet with wine and cheese reservations are required 240 342-2570 or 301 674-2643We can't wait to meet everyone!

Well, it’s time to get back to work.  Let’s make today count – put a smile on your face and love in your heart!

WE'RE BAAAAACKKKK!

Hello Cutie Patootie Followers!!

We've missed you soo much! Please accept our apologies for dropping off the face of the earth for a while but believe us, we've been busy.  We just celebrated our THIRD year of Cutie Patootieness - what a joy!  We can't lie, as with all new businesses, it was hard to get to this point but we did it!!  We've celebrated 376 birthday parties, fifteen daddy & darling dances, forty amazing tea parties, one snowball and ice masquerade ball, four wedding rehearsal dinners, seven bridal showers, thirteen baby showers (hi babies!), one summer of summer camp, and one spring of spring break camp - whew! The life of a mompreneur is not easy but with dedication and devotion, we've learned that all things are possible (I've become an over night business guru and Marisol has become an over night jack of all trades lol). We never knew the gifts we could pull out of our magic hat once we were pushed in a corner - I don't know whether to hysterically laugh or cry right now.

We are now ready to move into phase two of our growth which is to finally open our store at the cottage and online - "Pink Patooties".

Stay tuned for the cutest, most amazing items you could ever dream of!

Thanks for keeping us in your prayers!

Big hugs until we post again - sooner than later
Karen and Marisol
