Amanda's Telephone Call

Hello Cutie Patootie Followers,

We received a telephone call from Amanda yesterday. "My mommy said that if I wanted to get an answer to my questions, I had to ask". With open ears and a little fear of what was to come (we all know that kids say the darnedest things), we replied "Ask on little one, we're here to answer all of your questions".  With no hesitation, Amanda proceeded - "Me and my friend Molly want to come to your camp but she has a wheelchair and I can't carry her".  Our hearts filled with overwhelming warmth as we responded "we would love for Molly to attend camp with you - guess what, we have a ramp, much like a hill, that she is going to love to ride up and down on".  Miss Amanda was sooo happy to hear that her friend Molly, the magician who could do wheelies in her wheelchair, would be able to spend a whole week with her at Cutie Patootie!

We talked about Amanda for quite some time after that phone call.  We couldn't figure out what impressed us the most about the whole incident - Was it the sense of independence the mom was instilling in her eight year old daughter by having her take the initiative to ask questions to get answers? Was it the great sense of love and admiration Amanda had for her special friend who happened to be confined to a wheelchair?  Was it the joy Amanda couldn't contain as she rushed us off the telephone to call her friend Molly with the good news? We decided that each of the above was equally important and deserved acknowledgement.

We've had several parties and play dates for children with special needs.  Although we are not certified to handle these special seeds, we work closely with parents to create an individual experience their child and guests will enjoy.  We are extremely flexible and understand that there is a good chance that the planned party could change a bit, a lot, or end abruptly or it could go as planned without a hitch.  Our main goal is to make a difference in the lives of many while dealing with each child as an individual no matter what.

We experience lots of amazing girls at Cutie Patootie, each one making it very crystal clear why we love to do what we do.
