Hello Cutie Patootie Followers,
We have been busy, busy, busy working on new and exciting events for our families. Blessed to be able to bring smiles to your faces, we continually brainstorm about different ways to stay fresh in the minds of our amazing new friends! Cutie Patootie Birthdays & Such now offers an array of services: birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, weddings, daddy & darling dances, fancy schmancy tea parties, summer camps, mini workshops, play dates, patootie playrooms and last but not least Pink Patooties, our in-house store. Take a peek into our Cutie Patootie World below!
Birthday Parties
We are very close to celebrating our 500th birthday party - Whooo Wheeee! We have a big surprise for our birthday girl and can't wait to let her know!
Bridal Showers, Weddings and Baby Showers
We planned our first bridal shower several years ago and over Memorial Day weekend celebrated the pre-arrival of their first bundle of joy. The realization that Cutie Patootie Birthdays & Such had come full circle was overwhelming. While planning this wondrous celebration, mommies' hormones and our memories made keeping a dry eye quite impossible!
Knot Now Events:
Our Knot Now events (Daddy & Darling Dances and Fancy Schmancy Teas) are very near and dear to our hearts. It is with
these events that parents and grandparents get to share and build yet
another emotional bond with their little loves.
Daddy & Darling Dances
Our moms get sooo excited for their husbands and daughters to attend a dance. They buy the tickets, coordinate the outfits and even purchase the flowers. Can you imagine how we feel when we have to tell them that they are not invited?? UGHHHH, that is the hardest to explain. We wish we could have moms experience what we experience when we have a room full of men with their little girls. There isn't a dry eye in the little white house with pink shutters at the end of that event!
Fancy Schmancy Teas
Our fancy teas are becoming quite a staple not only with little girls and their grandmothers but with grown women and their girlfriends. It's precious to see little girls in their Sunday best but to see women dressed in beautiful flowing dresses with fancy hats - now that's amazing.
Summer Camps
*If you are still looking for a summer camp for your daughter, give us a call, we still have a few slots available: girls 4 - 6 yrs old (Patootie Pink Palace) and girls 7 - 12 yrs old. See our website for details:
www.patootiebirthdays.com
Workshops
*Stay tuned for several evening workshops we are developing for our girls during the summer.
Play Dates
*Don't wait for us to schedule a play date - gather some friends together and plan an impromptu one - can be a mini tea sitting, mini spa, creative play & movement or a girl's night out - yes, adults enjoy Cutie Patootie too!
Patootie Playrooms
*The Dalia family hired the Patootie Play Room to care for 12 children of guests during their wedding. Within two hours, we created a one minute dance routine which they were allowed to perform in front of all the guests - brought everyone to their feet - not to mention, they got to eat cake!
Pink Patooties
We still have room for a few vendors to help fill our store with trendy items for girls. If you know a creative individual with an amazing hobby or craft, let us know. We'll be happy to showcase their items when we have our Grand RELAUNCH of the bigger and better Cutie Patootie Birthdays & Such!
Last but definitely not least
We are looking to expand into the District of Columbia and Virginia. If you are interested in learning how to become a part of Cutie Patootie Birthdays & Such, let us know! Send us an e-mail at patootiebirthdays@gmail.com

Amanda's Telephone Call
Hello Cutie Patootie Followers,
We received a telephone call from Amanda yesterday. "My mommy said that if I wanted to get an answer to my questions, I had to ask". With open ears and a little fear of what was to come (we all know that kids say the darnedest things), we replied "Ask on little one, we're here to answer all of your questions". With no hesitation, Amanda proceeded - "Me and my friend Molly want to come to your camp but she has a wheelchair and I can't carry her". Our hearts filled with overwhelming warmth as we responded "we would love for Molly to attend camp with you - guess what, we have a ramp, much like a hill, that she is going to love to ride up and down on". Miss Amanda was sooo happy to hear that her friend Molly, the magician who could do wheelies in her wheelchair, would be able to spend a whole week with her at Cutie Patootie!
We talked about Amanda for quite some time after that phone call. We couldn't figure out what impressed us the most about the whole incident - Was it the sense of independence the mom was instilling in her eight year old daughter by having her take the initiative to ask questions to get answers? Was it the great sense of love and admiration Amanda had for her special friend who happened to be confined to a wheelchair? Was it the joy Amanda couldn't contain as she rushed us off the telephone to call her friend Molly with the good news? We decided that each of the above was equally important and deserved acknowledgement.
We've had several parties and play dates for children with special needs. Although we are not certified to handle these special seeds, we work closely with parents to create an individual experience their child and guests will enjoy. We are extremely flexible and understand that there is a good chance that the planned party could change a bit, a lot, or end abruptly or it could go as planned without a hitch. Our main goal is to make a difference in the lives of many while dealing with each child as an individual no matter what.
We experience lots of amazing girls at Cutie Patootie, each one making it very crystal clear why we love to do what we do.

We are strong - mind, body and soul!
Hello Cutie Patootie Followers,
Happy April 1st!!!!
Patootie Lynx (Links)
We have chosen to use this time to reflect, revise and renew our lives. This revelation became quite evident as a result of our first Patootie Lynx (Links) event held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Twelve women joined us that evening as strangers and departed as old friends.
As with all get-togethers with new faces, it took quite a bit of time to warm up with one another. We introduced ourselves, sipped some wine, talked about our families, sipped some wine, spoke about our dreams and our goals, sipped some more wine. By the time we were done, we learned so much about not only ourselves but the others in the room as well. The focus of our meeting was not to discuss hardships, struggles, bad relationships, or horrible bosses. It was to release our innermost wish, our greatest desire of which we've only told ourselves. One woman had planned to go back to school after her children started school - well, her children started middle school this year. She had completed her undergraduate degree in political science and had wished to one day apply to law school. Well, I wish I could say that we had a law school admissions counselor on site to hold her hand and walk her in but we didn't. What we did have was a woman in attendance who agreed to tutor her so that she could study for and sit for her LSATs within the next year!
Our lives have been enriched with the women in that circle. We are all not where we want to be in our lives right now. Some are stuck for one reason or another, others are taking baby steps in the direction of fulfillment while others have thrown themselves head first into the light, praying that they have made the right choice at the right time - We are here for you and will forever provide a place where all dreams and goals matter! Look at us, we threw ourselves head first through our door of opportunity and realized that with hard work, dreams can become a reality!
Stay tuned for our next Patootie Lynx Wine and Cheese!

Patootie Lynx
Hello Cutie Patootie Followers,
We are so excited about our Patootie Lynx (links) event we have scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 7 p.m. We've met so many smart and talented women during our three year journey that we decided to put everyone into one room to start a fire under those who need a little push to live their lives to the fullest.
When Marisol and I decided to devote ourselves to Cutie Patootie, we were scared to death to say the least! We always wished we had someone to talk to, someone to ask questions - we decided on a super woman, one who started a business with a family and a full time job. We even made up our very own fairy dust wish: "fairy dust, fairy dust with all your might, send us an answer in the form of a mother and wife" - this still makes us laugh hysterically!
We are surviving and we've been helping women kick themselves into gear ever since.
If you have a dream you'd like to fulfill, a business you'd like to start, a business you'd like to keep - come join us!
If you have a talent you'd like to share, come join us!
If you just need a little adult conversation - come join us!
This will be a FREE meet and greet with wine and cheese - reservations are required as space is limited 240 342-2570 or 301 674-2643.
Come in, kick off your shoes and let your hair down - we can't wait to make your acquaintance!

Consciously Paying it Forward
Hello
Cutie Patootie Followers:
Today is February 26, 2013 and as we sit and plan the
remainder of the year for our Cutie Patooties, we reminisce on the hundreds of
moms we met on our journey to this point. Like us, we've met moms
struggling with the day to day, trying to keep their family lives as normal as
possible. We've met talented, smart, vivacious, funny moms with stories
quite similar to ours. We sat for hours sharing stories, swapping
resources, giving advice and encouragement. We realized that although we
are not little girls, as moms, we still do not have all the answers to all the
questions - and it's o.k. As a result of these impromptu meetings, we
have been blessed to partner with several moms willing to come in during our
clubhouse hours to offer classes to our girls.
These workshops have been beneficial to our girls and our moms in soo
many ways.
Our Patootie Club House offers workshops centered around
four themes we believe are essential in the lives of girls today: Education,
Entrepreneurship, Health and Positive Self-image. Our mission is to provide girls ages 5 - 16 yrs.
with an opportunity to empower themselves to become great leaders. We challenge them to think on their own by
creating consequence based and decision-making opportunities that build
self-esteem, self-confidence and self-expression. A few of our MOST popular workshops have been:
Education:
Book Club 101:
Introduction to chapter books
Attacking the College Essay
Before it Attacks You: How one should prepare themselves to become more marketable while in H.S.? When should one begin to write their college essay?
What should be included and what should be removed?
Entrepreneurship:
Your
Junk, Someone’s Treasure – How to de-clutter to conduct a yard sale
For our mini hoarders and
clutter bugs, teaching girls how to de-clutter their closets and
organize dresser drawers’ thereby removing items no longer in use. Girls bring these items to the cottage to sell (parental permission required) during our yard sale. Girls learn how to research and price all items for sale (cost analysis and depreciation) and conduct
their own yard sale with supervision.
Health:
Storybook Yoga:
Using the
creative minds of our girls, we create a story incorporating the use of yoga
poses, meditation and creative movement.
Positive Self Image
Bullying is for Bulls: Bringing out the positive aspects
of each girl, recognizing that we are all different and special in our own
skin.
If you are
willing to spend a few hours a week awakening the minds of girls, give
us a call; we’d love to hear from you!
We have created a group - Patootie Lynx (Links), for those who wish to come in, relax and network. Our first quarterly meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26th at 7 p.m. This will be a FREE meet and greet with wine and cheese reservations are required 240 342-2570 or 301 674-2643. We can't wait to meet everyone!
Well, it’s
time to get back to work. Let’s make
today count – put a smile on your face and love in your heart!

WE'RE BAAAAACKKKK!
Hello Cutie Patootie Followers!!
We've missed you soo much! Please accept our apologies for dropping off the face of the earth for a while but believe us, we've been busy. We just celebrated our THIRD year of Cutie Patootieness - what a joy! We can't lie, as with all new businesses, it was hard to get to this point but we did it!! We've celebrated 376 birthday parties, fifteen daddy & darling dances, forty amazing tea parties, one snowball and ice masquerade ball, four wedding rehearsal dinners, seven bridal showers, thirteen baby showers (hi babies!), one summer of summer camp, and one spring of spring break camp - whew! The life of a mompreneur is not easy but with dedication and devotion, we've learned that all things are possible (I've become an over night business guru and Marisol has become an over night jack of all trades lol). We never knew the gifts we could pull out of our magic hat once we were pushed in a corner - I don't know whether to hysterically laugh or cry right now.
We are now ready to move into phase two of our growth which is to finally open our store at the cottage and online - "Pink Patooties".
Stay tuned for the cutest, most amazing items you could ever dream of!
Thanks for keeping us in your prayers!
Big hugs until we post again - sooner than later

Cutie Patootie Testimonials or Lack of...
Hello Cutie Patootie Followers,
It was brought to our attention that although we received 9 reviews on YELP, only one remains visible - our very first review we received one year ago, (March 2011). While YELP has refused our request to publish our additional testimonials, we’ve decided to post each one for your review. (Please note that these reviews are visible if you visit YELP.com, search for "Cutie Patootie Birthdays & Such, Olney, MD" scroll down past the one star review, press 9 Filtered and put in an access code).
While we could go through each line item on the one star review and make excuses, that would defeat our purpose - making sure that no parent ever leaves our venue feeling the way this guest did. Because our Cutie Patootie clients are children, we believe in transparency. If at ANY time, you would like to know the background of the one star review, just ask and we will gladly oblige.
PS because the vacuum operator mentioned in our one star review was my 14-year-old son, I can say in his defense that he was vacuuming feathers so our little 5 year old princesses would not slip while walking the run way – I praised him for being so conscientious – I’m sure you would too!

We just celebrated my daughter's fifth birthday with Cutie Patootie and we couldn't have been happier with the party. They took care of all the details and made my little girl feel very special. The decor is wonderful, the cupcakes are awesome and the party goers loved the games and crafts they created. I've had several comments from other moms whose daughters were invited to the party, and they were impressed as well. I'd highly recommend Cutie Patootie.

My daughter and I love this place. We have been to several birthday parties at Cutie Patootie and she recently celebrated her 8th birthday here. Each party is unique and tailored to what each girl wants so none of the parties we've been to were alike. My daughter was able to pick her theme, her activities and color scheme for her party. The fun began from the moment we started planning to the day of her actual party. The hostesses were wonderful and took care of every single detail which was a plus for me. They tended to each and every girls wants and needs. Everyone had a ball! Can't wait to attend another one of their fabulous events. My daughter and I were very pleased and I highly recommend this as an experience every little girl should have.

My grandbundle celebrated her 3rd birthday party in cutie patooties's magical fairy garden. From the time she hung her coat on the flower coat hooks until she received her glow in the dark departure wand, her eyes were as wide as saucers. She simply adored her fairy crown, wings and tutu. Her Fairy Godmother Marisol and Fairy Godmother Karen (the owners) had accommodations to support a SKYPE video call for the baby's parents to participate in her party from South Korea. A special fairy came to sing and read to my grandbundle and her guest. My mother in law said the cottage and the party reminder her of the fairy tales her mother used to read to her when she was a little girl. We had a wonderful day in the magical fairy garden at Cutie Patooties Birthdays and Such.

I also have a 6 year old daughter who will have a birthday in the end of September, but she and I cannot wait until then to throw her a party, so we just booked something for early April to do a tea with her little friends LOL!!!

The cottage is adorable as is the decor. The food was delicious and the girls enjoyed the activities. My daughter looks forward to celebrating her eleventh birthday party there as well!

I recently attended a birthday party and as much as I have to agree that the appearance was very cute I really have to say that the staff there was a little too unorganized and unfocused on the party at hand. As a guest I felt more that it was an open house than a scheduled party time. I also felt that my child was being rushed eating and the best was that the party wasn't even over and they pulled out the vacume cleaner and started to clean. Therefor I felt in the way. I personally would not consider booking a party there or recommending it to any of my friends and family.

Daddy and Darling Dance Success!
Hello Cutie Patootie Followers,
What an amazing evening we had last night with twenty (20) daddy & darling couples! At 5 p.m. sharp the cars started rolling into our parking lot and out strolled the best dressed dads and darlings we have ever laid eyes on! A few of the dads purchased the certificates to attend the event while others were asked to dress up and follow the leader (mom) to the cottage lol. Upon check in, each daughter immediately pulled their dads to the dance floor where our live DJ was playing the latest music, with blinking strobe lights to boot. Our photo booth was set up in our spa area, (thank you SMILEZ), with lots of kooky costumes for the girls and their dads to adorn to take photos while Marisol displayed her artistic side by painting beautiful valentine masks on our newest Cutie Patootie's.
With the dads still looking a little apprehensive, the announcement was made to "Let the Games Begin". We played a daddy, darling version of the newlywed game where the dads had to leave the room and answer questions about their daughters and daughters had to do the same - one question asked of the girls was "If your dad went to a restaurant what type would it be: A) fast food B) "FOO FOO" Gourmet C) Chinese or D) no restaurant, he loves my mommy's cooking ( NOT ONE DAD CHOSE D). We also played dress the princess - "What ever happens at Cutie Patootie, Stays at Cutie Patootie", moms, check dad's phone for those princess photos - lol. In between dancing, playing games, taking photos and face painting, the girls snacked at a beautiful candy bar and cupcake table filled with lots of yummy valentines day treats.
We must say that this evening was very special in so many ways - with life rushing by, it has become so hard to take the time out to smell the roses. Our babies are growing soo fast and before we know it, our little ones will become big ones. We saw with our own eyes how dads were so happy to spend this time with their daughters. The excitement they exhibited when their daughters answered questions correctly about them was priceless. We had a great time last night and we know we created memories which will be cherished FOREVER!
We have four more daddy darling dances scheduled for March 18, April 15, May 20 and June 24. We would love to meet a few more couples! Reservations must be made in advance - $40/couple (20% discount). Please call 240 342-2570

Happy Anniversary Cutie Patootie!!
Hello Cutie Patootie Followers,
Marisol and I would like to shout a big "THANK YOU" to everyone who made this ride down "Mompreneur Lane" an amazing one. Yes, we have been in business for one whole year and we're still sane and loving more than ever what we have created - What an adventure!! We've celebrated well over 100 birthdays for guests aged 1 - 60 yrs, sang songs and read stories during mommy & me, polished thousands of finger and toe nails, dined with grandparents and their loves, drank tea and ate crumpets with our cutie patootie's and their dolls and created amazing rehearsal dinners for the best wedding parties ever - Congrats again to the Dugan, Jacobstein and McWilliams parties of two! In a few days, we'll be watching dads and their daughters dance the night away and will be scheduling our FIRST EVER mommy and son dance - Stay tuned!
We believe that we have accomplished exactly what we set out to do - make an impact in the lives of those who visit with us in every capacity. It is our goal to help girls grow into confidant, strong, determined individuals and our events have all been created to do just that by teaching life lessons without pressure - our 'BRAIN BUDGES". We believe that our brain budges combined with positive "hands on" education, will ultimately help to make our girls into viable, well respected members of society.
{Big Hugs} to all the fantastic moms, dads and grandparents we've met who have helped to shape Cutie Patootie into what it is today - a place where imagination and creativity are embraced and the belief in one's abilities are encouraged.
Cheers to a successful year!

Come learn about our half-day summer camp sessions (9 - 12 p.m.) offered this summer for our very special Cutie Patooties! Each moment the girls are with us, we will enlighten them with the drive of Entrepreneurship, instill in them the importance of Education, provide them with information to make positive choices with regards to their Health and create an atmosphere where they can work on developing a Positive Self-Image - All this I might add without making them know this is happening - lol
Example:
Creative Craft Week - At the beginning of the week, girls are divided into teams (non-competitive) and allowed to choose materials to create an item to sell. A business name is created for their company and titles are selected (CEO aka Boss, CFO aka money girl, CSO aka creative one). The girls create a cost analyses to determine how much will be spent to develop the item. At the end of the week, the girls complete a mini market analyses to decide how and who to market their creation to and how much to sell it for in order to recoup a profit. Art work is then offered for sale to the other groups with all money donated to a charity chosen by the campers. (Entrepreneurship, Education).
